Back in the day, before Call of Duty was a twinkle in Infinity Wards’ eye, before Master Chief dominated his first Covenant soldier, back when online gaming was something only PCs did, SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs introduced a new generation of gamers to what online multiplayer could be. By today’s standards it was fairly primitive, and it also required the purchase of a special broadband modem that installed into your PS2, but the SOCOM games filled a niche that many did not know even existed.
In the years since, SOCOM has fallen off a bit. The first three PS2 games were hits, but the fourth was released as the next generation of consoles were grabbing all the headlines. The transition of the series to the PS3 was also a rocky affair, and the last title released, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation was met with a general consensus of meh. The single player was unimpressive, and the online featured just seven maps (not to mention several technical issues). The portable SOCOM games have also met with indifference, and it seemed like SOCOM might be relegated to the fond and nostalgia tinted memories of the millions of people that played it back in the early part of last decade.
Zipper Interactive wants to change that, and they are hoping to do it with the upcoming SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs 4, due out on April 19 as a PS3 exclusive. The game has a long way to go if it wants to steal the multiplayer shooter crown back from Call of Duty, not to mention the several other prominent rivals including Battlefield Bad Company 2, but the series has the pedigree. Mac vs. PC

You know I do have to agree, in my personal opinion based off of information that i know the Mac OS is just a pretty color operating system. On par with linux where you have to have functionality coded in however instead of being able to do it yourself in true coder fashion you have to wait for a work around to be discovered  or for apple's programmers to get aroundtoit. nooooothankyouu.

Dead Space Arrives to Terrorize Your IPhone, IPad

Dead Space, the blockbuster alien-slaughter game from Electronic Arts, has been released as a pair of games for iPhone and iPad--the two sharing an exclusive storyline that "sets the stage" for the company's Dead Space 2, which was also released Tuesday.

For the iOS Dead Space story, three years have passed since the events of the original game. You face off against the savage Necromorph aliens while on a mystery-shrouded mission to the Mines of Titan. EA says it has retained the "cinematic horror" of the game while fitting it into an iOS environment: the on-screen HUD is integrated into the game's ecosystem of swipe-and-tap controls. See the video below for a demonstration of the iPhone gameplay.

Fans of the franchise should be excited by new features in the iOS version of the game, including new weapons like the "plasma saw" and "core extractor." An in-game store lets you pay to upgrade weapons, unlock sealed doors, increase your offensive and defensive capabilities, or boost the value of credits scavenged from defeated and dead Necromorphs.

If you register an in-app account with EA, you'll receive an unlock code to be used in the console version of Dead Space 2. The iPhone version costs $7 and is compatible with any device running iOS 3.0 or later; the HD iPad version costs $10, and runs on tablets using iOS 3.2 or later.

"Vt. announces maple settlement with McDonald's

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont — the country's largest maple producer — has announced a settlement with McDonald's Corp. over complaints that the restaurant chain was improperly labeling a new product as maple flavored in the state.

Gov. Peter Shumlin said Thursday that the only maple ingredient in McDonald's Fruit and Maple Oatmeal was extracted from a bark of a bush that is a distant relative of the maple tree.
McDonald's has agreed starting Feb. 1 to give customers in its Vermont stores pure maple syrup or sugar to add to the fruit and maple product if they request it. This will not apply outside of Vermont.
McDonald's spokeswoman Nicole DiNoia says the company is pleased with the settlement and is happy to continue offering the oatmeal product in Vermont."

Seriously A fight over maple syrup. I would think it funnier if  they weren't a state and a corporation. It actually would be pretty funny to see two people fighting over maple syrup. :D
